2007 - 2009 SHSAA, Inc. Standing and ad hoc Committees

Assessment (ad hoc) - creates guidelines for the storage and archiving of important SHSAA, Inc. documents.

Auditing - responsible for auditing the financial the fnancial books at once per fical year.

Chairperson: Robert Bennett
Member: Ranow McCoy

 

Contitution & By-Laws - composes and receives all propposed amendments to the Constitution and By-laws. Proposed amendments are submitted for action to the voting body of the Association in accordance with provisions for amendments in these By-laws.

Educational Grants (Scholarship) - determines which students receive a SHSAA, Inc. scholarship.  The committee includes a National Chairperson, who is an alumnus of Sampson or Clinton High School, a co-chairperson, and a chapter representative from each of the active chapters.

Finance - The Treasurer, President, and Financial Secretary are all required, per the SHSAA, Inc. Constitution & By-laws, to be members of this Committee.  Currently, the Business Manager also serves on this Committee.

Fundraising - suggests ways and means of undertaking various fundraising projects and methods of organizing and making such projects effective.

Chairperson - vacant

Historian - records, collects and keeps important artifacts and the history of the organization in the National archives.

Chairperson: Rev. Alfonza Williamson
Members: Irene Hill, Dr. Jesse Williams 

 

Media - collects news from the national president, chapter presidents, committees and other sources and publishes such news in the National Newsletter and on the official organization Website.

Members: Maggie Williams, Rose Williams,

 

Membership - suggests to the Association ways and means of securing members and methods of organizing for the purpose of making such membership more effective. May consist of three or more members.

Miscellaneous Affairs (Benevolence) - sends gifts, cards, flowers and/or other notations for occasions such as marriage, illness, death and other life milestones.

Nomination/Election - prepares a slate of officers consisting of one or more names for each office to be filled and of names who have consented to serve if elected.   This Committee also presents the slate of officers during the Annual Reunion.  Additional duties include the facilitation of the selection of the Ram Recognition Award Recipient.

Phase Two (ad hoc) - works to achieve the renovation and rehabilitation of the Alumni Headquarters and the entire old Sampson High School campus by soliciting funds, implementing fundraisers, and by creating partnerships and coalitions.

Social - plans the Education and Social programs for the Association and strives to present one of each during the fiscal year.
