SHSAA, Inc. 2009 Ram Award
Congratulations to Helen Faison

Helen Faison
2009 Ram Award Recipient
The Ram Recognition Award is the highest award given by SHSAA, Inc. Nominees are selected based on their significant contributions to Sampson High School, Sampson County, NC, their current community, or the United States during the last five years previous to being nominated. The recipient can be nominated by individuals or by a chapter. Each Chapter President is asked to send a chapter representative to the Spring Board meeting to represent their chapter on the RAM Recognition Award Committee, as this is when the recipient is selected by the Committee. The Nomination/Election Committee Chairperson chairs the Ram Recognition Award Committee.
The nomination forms are sent to the Nomination/Election Committee Chairperson no later than two weeks prior to the Spring Board Meeting for review. The Chairperson then removes the name of the applicant from the nomination form, makes copies and provides the nominations to the RAM Recognition Committee at their meeting following the main business session of the SHSAA, Inc.
The Nomination/Election Committee reviews the contributions of the nominees, and after discussion with the other Committee participants, gives each nominee a score between 1 and 10. The scores are tallied and the one with the highest score wins. The name of the RAM winner is kept secret until the annual SHSAA, Inc. Alumni Reunion Banquet. The Nomination/Election Committee Chairperson will notify the recipient via registered mail and has the plaque made and presents the plaque to the recipient at the Banquet.
